Steven’s advertising career began in the North East of England at Cravens on a one-week placement. Still at the agency ten months on, he’d worked on campaigns for ZSL London Zoo, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, Anlwick Gardens, Kew Gardens, and English and Scottish Rugby. From there Steven entered the M&C Saatchi 24-Hour Ad Challenge where he placed top three. The shortlisted ad screened at the ICA. Seeing his ad up on the big screen fuelled Steven’s ever-growing passion for advertising and ideas. It was at this time that Steven moved to London.

In 2013 Steven worked freelance for agencies including Johnny Fearless, PAA and JWT where he created pitch-winning work for Imperial War Museums, Nestlé Chocapic and Grafton. On the back of winning Johnny Fearless new business, Steven joined the agency. The following years saw Steven rebrand the whole Grafton business, launch the cigar Davidoff Escurio, create a 360 campaign for IWM London, encourage the victims of male rape to speak out, and pitch for and win Rolls-Royce.

Work for Imperial War Museums won widespread praise, Campaign Pick of the Week, Campaign Top 10 TV and Cinema Ad of the year, Aerial Awards and D&AD pencils. In Campaign's Annual 2014, Steven was honoured with best radio ad of the year.

Then in 2015 he worked freelance for companies such as Leo Burnett, Havas, Oliver and Dare. A whirlwind year at Oliver/Dare saw Steven pick up five pitch wins including 3M, Weetabix, PepsiCo, Urostemol and Britvic.
